Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Incorporated
The Gamma Iota Chapter at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
The UNC Charlotte Gamma Iota Chapter of Lambda Theta Phi represents the first and largest Latin fraternity in the nation. Since 1975, Lambda’s founders, as men of vision, realized there was a need to unite the Latino students, develop their leadership skills, impart upon them the value of an education, and instill in them a commitment to their community and culture. From that moment on they have been viewed as the Leaders of the Greek Latino Movement. This vision continues within the Gamma Iota Chapter, since its start in 2007. The brothers are dedicated to academic excellence, brotherhood, leadership, Latino unity, and service. They perform community service, promote Latino culture by sponsoring events which highlight and celebrate Latino heritage, participate in educational workshops, and enjoy many social programs. Since their start, the Gamma Iota Chapter has been changing the face of UNC Charlotte, and in the years to come they will continue to do so in hopes to unite all through their passion, dedication, and pride in who they are.
